So the holidays are over but your body is a "masterpiece" of almost 2 months worth of dinners and festivities! How quickly it all creeps up! With the New Year comes good intentions and resolutions but historically in our hustle and bustle world, many are broken only a few weeks after making them. As a weight-loss success story, I am here to share with you a few quick fitness tips which will enable you to keep your resolutions, no matter what your daily routine may be! You don’t need to spend hours in the gym or eat like a rabbit to achieve the bikini model results you want; so out with the “old and in with the new”- for real this time! Forming these 5 habits will have you on the fast track to a healthier and fitter you faster than you can say bikini season!


1) Motivate Yourself
What’s your motivation? It is fitting into that slinky cocktail dress for the big gala next month? Is it running a 5k marathon? Is it having more energy to fuel your productivity? Regardless of what motivates you, recognizing your motivation is the first step to transforming yourself from who you are today to who can and WILL become 3, 6, 12 months from now. Use the power of visualization to help you envision what you want to accomplish and always keep that goal in the back of your mind for inspiration.

2)Little Changes, Big Results
No matter how much time you spend in the gym, if you do not get enough beauty sleep or supplement correctly, you will not see the progress you so much deserve! I want you to be successful in every aspect of your life, starting with helping you make those little habitual changes that will yield huge results in the end! Get your beauty sleep, make an effort to carry healthy snacks & drink plenty of water to keep you alert & rid your body of toxins. It’s easy to incorporate these tips into almost any lifestyle! For example, you can power your “powershopping” at Saks by noshing on a low calorie protein bar. Kick those mid-afternoon cravings to the curb by having a high protein smoothie or by taking a brisk 10 minute walk. If you make a conscious effort to improve your lifestyle choices through getting better quality sleep,making healthy food choices & increasing your levels of physical activity, these habits will soon become second nature, allowing you to focus your energy on bigger challenges.

3) Supercharge your Metabolism
Did you know eating more frequently will jumpstart your metabolism, allowing your body to burn calories all day- even while you are asleep? I always tell my clients to eat within the first hour that they awake so that their body shifts into the fat-burning mode. Bad habits like skipping breakfast then eating a huge lunch and little to nothing for dinner will only hoard fat and make you hungrier, so eat up!

4) Curb the Cocktails
Nobody likes to work hard and not yield the results they deserve. Your cure for a stressful day may be having a chocolate martini with the girls, but if you are trying to make strides to improve your overall fitness level, I urge you to curb your cocktails! While it may be a temporary fix, alcohol will leave you feeling tired and bloated the following day & let’s not even mention how many calories some of our favorite fruity drinks contain. Don’t deprive yourself, just like anything, moderation is key! Try ordering low calorie and low carb drinks such as Bacardi Diets, Wine Spritzers or Michelob Ultras.

5) Preparation is Key
So now you have your Motivation & Education, the only thing left to your “Fit Equation” is the Preparation! When you are prepared, you are twice more than likely to succeed at your goal, whether you are trying to lose 5 or 40 pounds. Make it easy for yourself by keeping a gym bag with a change of workout clothes in your trunk & by always carrying healthy snacks to power you through your busy day. In my humble opinion, these are the most critical things you can do to embark or re-embark on a fit lifestyle.
